Open Positions (m/f/d) in Heterogeneous Catalysis/CO2 Conversion

Are you a passionate and committed young researcher with a keen interest in the field of heterogeneous catalysis? The Chair II of Technical Chemistry, headed by Johannes A. Lercher, at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), is seeking to fill two Ph.D. candidate positions and one postdoctoral position to contribute to research in the area of heterogeneous catalysis.

Role and Responsibilities:

§  Investigate bimetallic catalysts on various support materials, including zeolites, for the conversion of CO2 to hydrocarbons.

§  Conduct synthesis, (operando) characterization, and kinetic investigations in collaboration with an industrial partner.

Selection Criteria:

§  Master’s degree (for Ph.D. candidates), Ph.D. degree (for postdoctoral researchers), or equivalent in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Specialization in Catalysis, reaction engineering, or material science is advantageous.

§  Experience working with laboratory-scale chemical reactors and a strong understanding of concepts related to heterogeneous catalysis.

§  Outstanding motivation and willingness to work in an international interdisciplinary team.

§  Excellent writing skills and proficiency in English.
