The research of our group covers a wide range of organic chemistry, from the synthesis of biologically active molecules to detailed kinetic studies of catalytic processes. In the field of catalysis, we are particularly interested in new methods for selective C-H bond activation and enantioselective photochemical reactions. Our state-of-the-art laboratories are located within the newly constructed building of the Catalysis Research Center (CRC) of the TU Munich. With regard to synthesis, our focus lies in natural products with an unusual skeleton and in molecules whose mode of action we aim to elucidate and harness in collaboration with other scientists.
