Having more time for research, publications and talks, Prof. Nilges applied for a research sabbatical for one semester and it was accepted. 

Based on the Rudolf Hoppe Lecture Award (granted by GDCh Fachgruppe Festkoerperchemie und Materialforschung in September 2016), Prof. Nilges visited three universities in May for his talks:

University Freiburg "Niederdimensionales zum Thema Phosphor und seine Verbindungen",

Universities Muenster and Oldenburg "Wissenswertes und Erstaunliches rund um Phosphor".

The first talk Prof. Nilges gave in the scope of Rudolf Hoppe Lecture was in September 2016 at the University of Giessen.
