Research Topic: Metal-organic Frameworks in Photocatalytic Carbon Dioxide Reduction
Due to the ongoing shortage of fossil fuels, new and environmental sustainable energy sources are needed. One of the most important of such energy sources is solar energy, for which still large-scale efficient conversion strategies to electricity are needed. One possibility thereof is the light induced excitation and charge separation coupled to a photocatalytic reaction, for example the reduction of the abundant greenhouse gas carbon dioxide. For this master thesis, the energy conversion processes inside of metal organic frameworks leading to the reduction of carbon dioxide, are of interest.
